Lancelin Buskers Festival
I’ve had to take a few weeks off busking and my tuesday night livestreams, as I caught a bit of a flu while doing street shows during the WAMCon showcases in Fremantle a few weeks back. That was a hoot though - I raised enough money to buy a new hat, which I’m off to the shops to get tomorrow.
Now that I’m back in the saddle after that time away, I’m contentedly making grand plans.
My Tuesday Night Music Club livestreams will be back from next week, september 15. Stop by my Instagram or Tiktok for some tunes.
I’ll be competing in the two day competition at the Lancelin Buskers Festival, which has been going a few years now up in Lancelin. If you’re not from Westralian parts, that’s a cozy fishing town an hour and a half north of Perth, in the general direction of the Pinnacles. I’ll be doing five half hour gigs over the saturday and sunday and appearing at their Songwriters’ night on the friday.
The schedule will come out just ahead of the weekend, but if you’re planning to come up for a look, the competition happens from 9am through 3pm each day. Accommodation looks to be getting a bit thin on the ground, but there’s still some about, otherwise it’s a nice day trip up from Perth.
It’s a bloody lovely spot:
Presenting someone else’s happy snap of Lancelin beach. Ain’t it nice.
Other than that, I’ve been recording and tinkering on new songs, as I slog my way to finishing my first full album of Woody’s original material. Feeling really energized and excited about how that side of things is going at the moment. I reckon the album is gonna surprise a lot of people; it’s really got it’s own thing going on.
I’ll report back with more updates when I’ve got ‘em.
Be good,
Woody
